Models of uniformly rotating non-synchronous binary polytropes have been calculated and compared with the results obtained from the Roche model. It is found that the relative dimensions of the non-synchronous systems are adequately portrayed by a Roche model but the degree of central condensation affects the minimum separation by an amount which is probably not insignificant.
