This note considers the steady incompressible flow of a laminar or turbulent boundary layer along a straight streamwise corner, formed by two flat plates intersecting each other at an arbitrary included angle. It is assumed that the undisturbed freestream is parallel or roughly parallel to the cornerline and that the intersecting corner-walls are impermeable. Attention is focussed on the necessary and sufficient conditions for steady flow separation from the sharp cornerline.
