Following up Feichtinger (1968b), an automaton-theoretic interpretation of the N-element stimulus sampling model with two response classes is given. Finite stochastic automata are used and in particular investigated relative to the limit behavior. Moreover the conception of abstract automata as generators for stochastic processes is suggested. This approach is suitable to supply exact and formal models for different empirical fields of knowledges.
