
A possible ancient origin of the Anthomedusae, Leptomedusae and Limnomedusae in the Indo-Malayan region and of the Narcomedusae and Trachymedusae in the Antarctic region is postulated. Conclusions are based on recent distribution patterns and comparison with Euphausiacea distributions.
