Abstract

Mainly as a result of offshore exploration there is a rapid development of measurement methods for the determination of the properties of the seafloor soils. Acoustic or seismic methods are now mainly used to obtain bottom and sub-bottom profiles. Although these methods give valuable information there is a need for improvements to obtain higher resolution and more quantitative information.
