The topic to be reviewed in this article is the experimental study of the behaviour of matter under the action of the electromagnetic fields encountered in the electrical portion of the spectrum, that is to say, in waves of all wavelengths greater than a few millimetres. The special properties of magnetic materials will not be considered; we shall confine our attention to the action of the electric field, or to those reactions usually referred to as the dielectric behaviour of materials.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 4 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
