If a certain numerical method has been developed to solve a given problem, a computer is needed to do the work as prescribed by the algorithm. But this requires that the algorithm is transferred into a program that can be understood by the computer. In this chapter we shall briefly describe the basic characteristics for this programming process, and introduce the MATLAB system. It is certainly not a course in programming, but rather an introduction to the principles of computers and programming for those who know very little about it.
| citations This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
