
In this chapter we shall investigate the place of archaeoastronomy within archaeological research, aiming to assess its methodological affinity with other scientific and humanities disciplines. Our objective is also to understand what the most desirable compromise between a rigorous scientific approach to data and the peculiar, human-dependent nature of archaeoastronomical records might be.
