
The purpose of this chapter is to describe and provide evidence for key nutrition themes in the management of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) in youth; review standards of care practices and provide practical advice and approaches. Topics include: shared management around food; eating patterns; nutrient distribution; use of caffeine, sugar-added beverages and alcohol; disordered eating and disturbed eating behavior; celiac disease; dyslipidemia; exercise; diabetes technologies; and transition to adult care.
