Arduino, an open-source electronics prototyping platform, is celebrating its tenth anniversary of availability in 2014—its first ten years of life. That means it’s been here since the very beginning of the Internet of things concept, as we understand it now. In fact, the advent of low-cost prototyping platforms like Arduino is one of the cornerstones that have allowed this emerging revolution to happen, supporting both the do-it-yourself concept and the maker movement.
