AbstractA transmission‐line model excited by distributed generators is used to analyze the voltage and current induced by an external electromagnetic field in a microstrip transmission line. The influence of the electrical and geometrical parameters of the planar structure on the line's response to external transient electromagnetic fields has been analyzed. Design guidelines to reduce the disturbance induced are considered and the optimum choice for the substrate's parameters are discussed. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
