AbstractA compact multiband antenna is proposed for mobile handheld devices. The antenna is composed of three‐folded monopoles and they are fed by only a single excitation. The simulated and measured results show that the proposed antenna has achieved the exceptionally wide bandwidths from 1.69 to 2.50 GHz and 3 to 6 GHz in addition to GSM 850/900 applications, whereas the antenna still keeps small size and high efficiency. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
