A broadband low-loss elliptical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) excited by using the microstrip-line technique is proposed. The effect of geometrical modifications of the microstrip feed line on the gain, bandwidth, and radiation performances of the antenna has also been investigated. The proposed antenna offers enhanced radiation characteristics compared to conventional microstrip-patch antennas. © Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
