Abstract Twenty patients with obstructed obturator hernia were seen at the City of Chiang Mai Hospital between 1962 and 1973. The most helpful diagnostic points are described. The relative frequency with which this disease has been seen at this hospital has made preoperative diagnosis possible in most cases in recent years and this has helped to lower the mortality.
