
AbstractPerovskite solar cells have been heralded as one of the most promising emerging technologies in 2016 because of the very high power conversion efficiency of 22% and the low cost of generating electricity compared to even fossil fuels. These are formed with various dimensionalities and can be fully manipulated once their bulk structure is reduced to a low‐dimensional structure. Despite being one of the most attractive materials to date, their instability significantly influences device performance and subsequently prevents the timely commercialization of perovskite solar cell technology. In this review, the recent advances in the synthesis of stable low‐dimensional metal‐halide perovskites are highlighted.
