Dr Flegal and colleagues1 conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the relationship between all-cause mortality, overweight, and obesity. Although the authors concluded that grade 1 obesity was not associated with higher mortality, and overweight was associated with lower all-cause mortality, some aspects of the study must be considered to better understand these controversial findings.
