ABSTRACT To the Editor.— Boyer and Kasch (211:1668, 1970) set out to determine whether exercise has any value for the hypertensive patient beyond the pleasure it may afford. Although their data show a reduction in pressure after exercise, it is impossible to conclude that this resulted from exercise without a concomitant control group of hypertensives who had similarly frequent pressure measurements and attention by their physicians.
