</script>The following case is reported to show the benefit of making a gastroenterostomy in cases of inoperable carcinoma of the pylorus, where the disease has advanced so far that the patient is starving to death on account of vomiting due to occlusion of the pyloric orifice. Mrs. F., aged 45 years, the mother of four children, had enjoyed perfect health until two years ago, when she began to vomit after eating and felt slight pains in her stomach. This kept on increasing, and the patient began to lose flesh, until when I saw her, February 28, she weighed but 90 pounds. I found a mass in the region of the pylorus, about as large as a hen's egg, and advised immediate operation, explaining that I might be able to remove the entire area of disease, and if not, I would at least make an opening to allow the food to
