Summary. The purpose of the study is to analyze the historiographical sources, which contain information about the participation and activities of women in the national liberation movement in the 1920‒1950s, to find out the research degree of the problem, to single out little-studied or even unexplored aspects. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, systematics, objectivity, moderate narrative constructivism, as well as the use of general scientific (analysis, synthesis, generalization) and special-historical (historical-genetic, historical-typological, historical-systemic) methods. The scientific novelty is in the attempt to collect, systematize and characterize historical and biographical works on the participation and role of women in the national liberation movement of 1920s – 1950s, to outline the range of insufficiently studied issues and promising areas of further research. Conclusions. The intensification of the emergence of new biographical studies on the participation of women in the Ukrainian liberation movement in the 1920s ‒ 1950s became possible only after Ukraine gained independence. Thus, the names of hundreds and even thousands of OUN and UPA members were brought back from oblivion. However, biographical studies of women’s participation in national liberation struggles are at an early stage. Despite the fact that in recent years there have been works that raise various issues of women’s participation in the Ukrainian liberation movement, a significant number need further study. The article presents a sharp difference with biographical studies of men’s participation in these structures. Today we see the continuation of a thorough search as extremely necessary. A significant disadvantage is the almost absence of women’s biographical studies at the thesis level. There are no separate studies at the monographic level (except for the work of Kateryna Zarytska). This gap is especially felt in the activities of women at district, supra-district, regional and regional levels, in the departments and subdivisions of the UPA.

Анотація. Мета дослідження – проаналізувати історіографічні джерела, в яких міститься інформація про участь та діяльність жінок в національно-визвольному русі 30–50-х рр. ХХ ст. і з’ясувати ступінь дослідженості проблеми, виокремити маловивчені або й взагалі невивчені аспекти. Методологія дослідження спирається на принципи історизму, системності, об’єктивності, поміркованого наративного конструктивізму, а також на використання загальнонаукових (аналіз, синтез, узагальнення) та спеціально-історичних (історико-генетичний, історико-типологічний, історико-системний) методів. Наукова новизна полягає у тому, що вперше зроблено спробу зібрати, систематизувати й охарактеризувати історико-біографічні праці про участь і роль жінок в національно-визвольному русі 1930–1950-х рр., окреслити коло недостатньо вивчених питань і перспективні напрями подальших наукових пошуків. Висновки. Отже, активізація появи нових біографічних досліджень про участь жінок в українському визвольному русі 1920–1950-х рр. стала можливою тільки після здобуття Україною незалежності. Так вдалося повернути із забуття імена сотень та навіть тисяч учасниць ОУН і УПА. Однак біографічні студії участі жіноцтва в національно-визвольних змаганнях перебувають на початковому етапі. Попри те, що в останні роки з’являються праці, в яких порушуються різноманітні проблеми участі жінок в українському визвольному русі, значна кількість потребує ще подальшого вивчення. І тут досить різка відмінність із біографічними дослідженнями участі чоловіків у цих структурах. Украй необхідним на сьогоднішній день вбачаємо продовження ґрунтовної пошукової роботи. Суттєвим недоліком є практично відсутність жіночих біографічних студій на дисертаційному рівні. Немає і окремих досліджень на монографічному рівні (за винятком праці про Катерину Зарицьку). Особливо цей пробіл відчувається щодо діяльності жінок на кущовому, районному, надрайонному, окружному, обласному та крайовому рівнях, у відділах і підвідділах УПА.
