Abstract

The main task of higher education is to form a creative personality of a specialist capable of self-development, self-education, and innovative activities. Solving this problem is hardly possible only by transferring knowledge in a ready form from lecturer to student. It is necessary to transfer the applicant for higher education from a passive consumer of knowledge to an active creator who knows how to formulate a problem, analyze ways to solve it, find the best result, and prove its correctness. In this regard, it should be recognized that the individual work of students is important and almost one of the main forms of the educational process. It is not just about increasing the number of hours for individual work. Strengthening the role of individual-counseling work means a fundamental revision of the organization of the educational-upbringing process in the institution of higher education (IHE), which should be built to develop learning skills, form students’ ability to self-development, creative application of knowledge obtained, ways to adapt to professional activities in today’s world. Various problems and achievements in the field of research on the organization of individual work in institutions of higher education have been raised and presented in the scientific investigations by the following researchers: B. Yurchenko, etc. Despite the significant number of scientific developments in the outlined subject, the problem under study needs further development, generalization, and improvement.
