This work purpose is present the library’s search work to reveal factual information about the teaching staff and students of the institution of higher education during the specified period of its existence for tracking the history of higher education.The data collection method is based on the review and analysis of the archival documents of the Kharkiv National University of Radio electronics, the comparison of information obtained from orders and orders, personal matters of teachers and students.The information about the faculty and graduates of the higher education institution of the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics, which existed from August 1962 to June 1966 under the name “Kharkiv Institute of Mining Machinery, Automation and Computer Engineering” was revealedPractical value: library, archival affairs, biographical research (of the person) Since 2017, the library staff and museum of KhNURE history have begun a project to create a series of reference books “History KkNURE: People. Events Facts “. The reference edition will consist of several issues in each historical aspect under the name of our university during certain periods of existence. The publication has two parts which contain information about the faculty and graduating students. Now publications on the teaching staff and students of the Kharkiv Institute of Mining Machinery, Automation and Computer Engineering were prepared for publication from August 1962 to June 1966. The compilers of the reference edition actively worked with the archive and museum of the KhNURE history. All archival documents, on which based a reference edition is compiled, are reviewed de visu. The project was initiated to reflect the historical development of the university and the historical cut of a certain branch of the country. The project is intended not only to secure the collection and preservation of the historical heritage, but also to access the interested community. The diversity of manuals that create libraries an institution of higher education is the basis for other, more extensive studies in biographic areas that track the history of the country through information about individual institutions.

В статье представлен опыт научной библиотеки Харьковского национального университета радиоэлектроники в краеведческом направлении по созданию справочных изданий на основе фактографической информации, приобретенной в результате поисковой работы в подразделениях вуза, сохраняющие архивную информацию.

У статті представлено досвід Наукової бібліотеки Харківського національного університету радіоелектроніки у краєзнавчому напрямку щодо створення довідкових видань на основі фактографічної інформації, набутої у результаті пошукової роботи у підрозділах вишу, що зберігають архівну інформацію.
