Priority trends of university education development in the countries of the European Union

Abstract

It was defined and analyzed the priority trends of university education development in the countries of the EU such as providing young people with access to high-quality education, increasing the role of students in the educational process and involving them in the decision-making process, raising the level of university education and creating new forms of funding, enhancement the role of digital technologies in university education, implementation of distance learning and virtual classes, using innovative teaching methods, expanding the global system of university partnerships and international mobility programs, development of interdisciplinary approaches to education and research, growing the importance of professional training and practice, using more active and interactive teaching methods, increasing the role of interdisciplinary sciences, such as life sciences, energy, information technology, development of innovative methods for assessing students' knowledge, growth of the role of intercultural education and promoting the internationalization of university education, development of interdisciplinary programs and projects, teacher training programs and educational materials, increasing the role of civil society and stakeholders in solving the issues of university education. The current challenges, ensuring quality education, the availability of higher education, problems of funding, technological development, competition, and innovation in training, which the higher education in Europe faced, are clarified. The prospects of research among the trends in the development of university education in the EU countries and optimization of cooperation between universities and industry in the following main forms such as the creation of university research centres, training programs with a practical component, joint financing of research and innovation projects, the creation of joint innovation centres, are considered.

Визначено та проаналізовано пріоритетні тенденцій розвитку університетської освіти у країнах ЄС: надання доступу до високоякісної освіти, підвищення ролі студентів в освітньому процесі; створення нових форм фінансування, збільшення ролі цифрових технологій, упровадження дистанційного навчання, розширення програм міжнародної мобільності, розвиток інтердисциплінарних підходів до навчання та досліджень, зростання значення професійного навчання та практики, використання інтерактивних методів навчання, збільшення ролі міждисциплінарних наук, розвиток інноваційних методів оцінювання знань студентів, зростання ролі міжкультурної освіти, розвиток програм підготовки педагогів і навчальних матеріалів, зростання ролі громадянського суспільства та стейкхолдерів у вирішенні питань університетської освіти.
