Abstract

Based on a case study of the Bordeaux metropolis, the article analyzes the components of the "productive city" which, within the same territory, are subject to fluctuating, sometimes antagonistic. Firstly, according to the favored productive functions and successive projects, with the gradual integration of the ecological and agri-food issues in transition. Then, when the environmental of an agricultural development project is challenged in the name of preserving in the name of biodiversity preservation, revealing the conflict between production/preservation components, as well as between urban renaturation modalities urban renaturation, often associated with the ecological transition of territories. Through the case presented here, the making of the "productive city" reveals its adaptive, transactional processes and the search for practical compromises between actors with objectives, expectations and constraints which are not spontaneously compatible.
