TOWARDS A COLLABORATIVE MUSICAL METAVERSE: MULTI-PARTICIPANT WEB EXPERIMENTS

Abstract

Les standards Web du W3C permettent aujourd'hui des applications en ligne autrefois impensables. L'intégration d'API comme Web Audio et Web MIDI, ainsi que les Web Audio Modules (WAMs), souvent appelés « VSTs pour le Web », ont transformé la création musicale en ligne. Les WAMs facilitent le développement d'applications modulaires en utilisant des composants réutilisables comme les générateurs de notes, instruments virtuels et effets audio. L'écosystème WAM comprend plus de 100 plugins, tutoriels et applications hôtes, dont Sequencer Party, une application collaborative permettant de créer des installations musicales en assemblant des plugins. Cet article transpose les concepts 2D de Sequencer Party dans le métavers musical 3D, en réutilisant les WAMs existants et en générant dynamiquement des interfaces immersives adaptées à la VR/XR. Pour le rendu 3D et l'intégration aux dispositifs immersifs, la bibliothèque Ba-bylonJS a été utilisée avec WebXR, permettant d'exécuter des applications dans les navigateurs Web des casques VR/XR sans logiciel supplémentaire. * .
