Abstract

Dans les élevages cunicoles actuels, les lapines sont inséminées alors qu'elles allaitent la portée précédente (insémination 11 jours après la mise bas). Elles superposent gestation et lactation pendant plus de la moitié du cycle de reproduction ce qui entraîne des besoins nutritionnels difficiles à satisfaire.cette situation explique en partie le fort taux de renouvellement des femelles reproductrices (>130% par an), le plus souvent pour fertilité insuffisante ou/et état corporel dégradé. nous conduisons un programme de recherche qui a pour objectif d'évaluer l'intérêt d'une conduite alternative de la reproduction chez la lapine (plus extensive). Dans cette conduite les femelles sont inséminées 2 jours après un sevrage précoce (23j), soit 25 jours après la mise bas. Ainsi elles ne superposent plus la gestation et la lactation.
