Abstract

En el año de 1821 se celebró en la ciudad de Villa del Rosario Cúcuta una Asamblea Constituyente que tenía como objetivo la unificación del territorio granadino, conocida como la Gran Colombia. En el marco del congreso, se solicitó el establecimiento de una imprenta nacional que permitiera la publicación de un órgano de difusión oficial de la nueva república. A partir de esta solicitud, el 6 de septiembre de 1821 nace la “Gaceta de Colombia”. En sus páginas se expusieron temas como la estructuración de la económica de la república, las reformas educativas y su relación con la iglesia católica, entre otros; esta publicación contó con secciones noticias oficiales donde se publicaron leyes y comunicados referentes a las relaciones exteriores, la administración, la justicia y todo relacionado con las disposiciones del gobierno.
