Abstract

The article scientifically validates the hypothesis of protecting the surfaces of the working parts of tillage machines from wear by forming a hardened layer with a surface roughness gradient on their surfaces, allowing it to be overacted with hard (abrasive) particles contained in the soil. As a result of the self-organization of the wear process, an abrasive layer in the contact zone with the soil is created, which helps to approximate the coefficient of friction of the contact surface with the soil to the coefficient of friction of the soil with the soil. For the implementation of the hypothesis, the technology of applying electro spark hardening treatment, which creates topography of the surface for subsequent contamination by solid particles in contact with the soil has been proposed and experimentally confirmed.
