Quantitative NH Measurements in Laminar Premixed Low-Pressure NH3 /O2 /N2 Flames using Calibrated LIF

Abstract

A carbon-free fuel that can be used in maritime transport. An electro-fuel that can be used for storing surplus energy. One main challenge: release of harmful emissions: NO x pollutants, N 2 O (GHG with a GWP 273 times higher than CO 2 ), and unburnt NH 3 (can cause eutrophication and acidification) Context Perspectives Perspectives References & AcknowledgmentThis work is a contribution to the ANR-SIAC project and is funded by Labex CaPPA -Univ. Lille and the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME)Work in Progress: Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis of the burnt gas in the studied flames after probe sampling.Perform further analysis of the kinetic chemistry to better understand the NO x formation in ammonia combustion.
