In this paper, the syntactic compression's types found in the English \"Wisbech Standard\" and the Lithuanian \"Šiaulių kraštas\" regional newspapers' texts including headlines and advertisements have been described. The omissions of ellipsis, preteritions, articles, objects and adverbial modifiers had been found in the English newspapers while the cases of parcellation and the already indicated ellipsis, preteritions had been detected in the Lithuanian newspapers' texts. The thesis is relevant because the syntactic compression's phenomenon is quite new in linguistics and has not already been analysed comprehensively.
Šiame darbe aprašomi sintaksinės kompresijos būdai, aptikti angliškų \"Wisbech Standard\" ir lietuviškų \"Šiaulių krašto\" regioninių laikraščių tekstuose (įskaitant antraštes ir reklamas). Angliškuose laikraščių tekstuose surasta elipsių, nutylėjimų, artikelių ir papildinių bei aplinkybių praleidimų, o lietuviškuose - parceliacijos atvejų ir jau minėtųjų elipsių ir nutylėjimų. Darbas aktualus, kadangi sintaksinės kompresijos lingvistinis reiškinys, galima sakyti, naujas kalbotyroje dar nėra visapusiškai išanalizuotas.
