
Esta pesquisa objetivou mostrar como a realização da tarefa de casa afeta o rendimento acadêmico do alun excelente, bom/muito bom e fraco na disciplina Matemática. Foi utilizada a observação direta com 122 alunos e 3 professoras em quatro classes, uma de terceira e três de quarta série do ensino fundamental, escolhidas por sorteio; e entrevistas com 22 desses alunos, suas professoras, seus pais e a diretora. Notas, atitudes, disciplina e classificação da professora foram considerados como medidas de desempenho do aluno da escola da Rede Federal de Ensino da cidade de Uberlândia, Minas Gerias, Brasil. Abstract: The aim of this research was to show how homework tasks could increase academic results of students with excellent, good and poor performance in Mathematics. Direct observation was applied in classes with 1222 students, 3 teachers in four classes of basic courses: one of third degree and three others of fourth degree. These classes were lot picked. It was made an interview with 22 of these students, their teachers, their parents and the Director of the school and three of fourth degree. Marks, attitudes, interest, discipline and a rating established by the teacher were considered as measurement data on the student development at a federal school in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
