Abstract

The analysis of essential characteristics of concepts «economic-mathematical competence» and «mathematical competence» was done and was defined the relationship between them. The differences between aims of traditional and competence-based learning were noted. The different types of cognitive tasks, which can be used both in the process of learning mathematics, and when the diagnosis of manager’s of professional skills formation is given. Some examples of using different kinds of tasks while first and second year students of internal form learn mathematics in the Volgograd state physical education academy are presented. The experiment and results of studies, derived from the analysis of quality testing, programmed survey and written reports are analyzed. It is established that the structure of the tests which are used for diagnosing must be corrected.
