Abstract

In recent years, both associations and government agencies are increasingly paying attention to the information security of children. Requirements for the level of information security teaching for senior pupils are included in the emerging school standards and exemplary teaching syllabuses. It requires appropriate reflection in teaching methods of Informatics. In this article, we represent our didactic analysis of the standards and education programs for teaching of information security within the course of informatics for primary and high school. We concretized the concept of 'information security' and formulated the objectives, content, forms and methods of teaching of information security. We have also developed a model of information security teaching for schoolchildren, and on the basis of this model we formed the methodology of information security teaching for senior pupils. We have applied this model for the analysis of modern Russian textbooks Informatics. It turned out that these tutorials are not sufficient for teaching of information ethics and information security in general. Our model showed expediency of two recommendations for authors of Informatics textbooks. The first one is to expand the content of the 'Information security' section taking into account the concepts of security of children, individuals, society and the international community. Our second recommendation is to consider systemically both humanitarian and technological aspects of information security teaching of schoolchildren.
