Abstract

Changes in the carabid beetle community, which caused by deforestation, are considered in the study. We used the index of biocoenosis similarity to compare the carabid beetle faunas of the deforestation places, which have 10-year difference in the age. The faunas have considerable discrepancies in some characteristics at different stages of secondary succession. We have shown natural substitution of local communities in course of ten years of forest growth.
