The article addresses the formation of the education system in Russia in the 18-th and 19-th centuries. The author asserts that the study period is poorly understood and analyzes the historical development of the social education system. Particular emphasis is placed on moral, intellectual and physical education. The paper discusses the advanced ideas of outstanding 19th centuries teachers in teaching and education. It describes their work on the formation of a systemic approach to the field of education and their contribution to the emergence of new universities in Russia.

Статья затрагивает вопросы становления системы образования в России в период XVIII–XIX вв. Автор полагает, что исследуемый период недостаточно изучен, и делает попытку анализа исторического опыта организации воспитательной системы. Особое внимание уделено нравственному, умственному и физическому воспитанию. В работе рассматриваются передовые идеи выдающихся педагогов XIX в. в обучении и воспитании, освещается их деятельность в формировании системного подхода к образовательной сфере, их вклад в появление в России новых университетов.
