Abstract

Vector maps of rodent harmfulness zones from the AgroAtlas geoinformation resource (Afonin, etc., 2006) were used as initial data. By means of GIS technologies, the analysis of saturation degree by rodent species and their total harmfulness in territory of Russia and the adjacent states is made. The vector map reflecting the information on distribution of 26 rodent species, considered as pests of agricultural crops, is received as a result. Within Russia and the adjacent states 3 zones with a weak, middle and strong saturation of rodent species are allocated. Accordingly it is gradation 1-5, 6-9, 10 and more (it is maximum 14) species. The thematic map characterizing zones of rodent total harmfulness is created also. Three zones are allocated: weak, middle and strong total harmfulness, with gradation accordingly to 5 scores, 6-10 scores and 11-19 scores. A demonstration geoinformation system based on Pro Viewer v. 10.0 is designed. By means of program toolkit, it is possible to establish a set of rodent species having economic importance for each administrative territory, and to estimate risk degree of agricultural crops cultivation increasing in process of a saturation increase by rodent species and their total harmfulness.
