Abstract

The influence of different care and management technologies of Kazakh White-Head heifers in the summer period on feeds intake and nutrients and energy utilization, for conversion into meat products, have been studied. It is found that all the year round stabling heifers have consumed 3434.5 feed units, 34461.4 MJ metabolic energy and 336.8 kg of digestible protein for the period from birth to 18 months of age, 5531.7 feed units and 57598.6 MJ of metabolic energy and 472.5 kg for the period of 26 months. The heifers on pasture management supplemented with concentrates have consumed for the period of 18 months 3028.0 feed units, 30721.7 MJ of metabolic energy and 288.3 kg of digestible protein, and 4847.0 feed units and 47893.8 MJ and 386.1 kg. Young cattle, when on pasture in the summer period without concentrate supplements, consumed 2640.3 feed units, 28187.2 MJ metabolic energy and 234.2 kg of digestible protein for the period of 18 months, and accordingly 4324.7 feed units, 44975.9 MJ and 357.3 kg for the period of 26 months.
