Abstract

The study reflects new research and education the problem of formation of ecological culture, which plays the leading role in overcoming the current crisis situation arising between society and nature in the utilitarian approach of man to nature, the ideology of anthropocentrism. Overcoming the crisis is possible only through the transformation of thinking, changing priorities in the scale of human values on humanistically oriented and co-evolutionary. The level of ecological culture of a society is largely determined by the quality of geo-ecological education and upbringing. As noted by the authors, the purpose of geo-ecological studies is the formation of ecological culture of a person on the basis of student involvement in various activities for the study of the unique territory of their native land. The transformation of the content of modern education in line with the ideas and principles of sustainable development determines the change of technologies and methods. The result of geoecological research in local history is the use of local material in the classroom and creating routes geoecological excursions for carrying out practical work and observation in the field. The Central role of acquire geo-ecological excursions, contributing to the development of pupils ´ environmental competencies. They orients students on self-study material, contributes to the development activity, responsibility, and self-organization. Geo tours in additional education, developed by the authors, provide efficient formation of ecological culture as a factor of sustainable development.
