Abstract

The results of a comparative evaluation of protein content in blood serum of Black-Spotted steers and the double-and triple-cross hybrids are submitted in the article. It was found that the protein content in blood serum was changing with age, being increased in the period from 6 to 12 months and reduced from 12 to 18 months. The intergroup analysis showed that in all the cases the advantage was on the side of hybrid young animals. The higher amino-transferase activity in hybrid steers is the indicator of a more intensive protein synthesis, this confirming the higher level of total protein in the blood serum of hybrid animals. In order to enhance the production of high quality beef it is recommended to cross the ranged Holstein cows and Black-Spotted replacement heifers with Salers and Aubrac bulls.
