Abstract

The use of the literary texts in teaching foreign languages is indispensable because it not only enhances the for-mation of text strategies necessary to understand the content but also stimulates the process of immersion. On the basis of their experience of teaching German with the help of literary texts, the authors cover the most effective methods, various types of assignments which form textual, cross-cultural and emotive competences.
