This article is devoted to the problem of qualitative formation of a student's personality in the educational process at an institution of higher education. The educational potential of independent work is also analyzed. The article gives both a sientific ground and essential description of personal qualities which are important for successful educational and professional activitity. Structural components of independent work are revealed and their methodical content, providing the formation of necessary qualities is described.

Статья посвящена проблеме качественного становления личности студента в образовательном процессе вуза, при этом анализируются воспитательные возможности самостоятельной работы. Даны обоснование и сущностная характеристика личностных качеств, значимых для успешной учебной и профессиональной деятельности. Выявлены структурные компоненты самостоятельной работы, описано их содержательно-методическое наполнение, обеспечивающее формирование необходимых личностных качеств.
