Abstract

The article describes the process of development of educational system in Syria. Through the analysis of the educational system in Syria we get a unique opportunity to study the trends of system development from the heritage of educational traditions in Syria as a part of the Ottoman Empire and traditions of the French educational system which were implemented on the territory of Syria in a period of the French mandate, towards the methods of Soviet educational system, adopted over the years of close collaboration with the Soviet Union, and the distinctive way of development of the Syrian educational system.
