Abstract

This article is devoted to consideration of the concept of linguistic identity in connection with temporal language code. Mapped to the concept of personality from the point of view of psychology, everyday representation and linguistics. For a language personality has a dominant value of the human intellect, mental capacity. The paper presents three levels of linguistic identity (Yuriy Karaulov): verbal-semantic, cognitive, pragmatic, or motivated and three groups of language behavior (Vladimir Gak): non-verbal elements of behaviour and reactions, verbal reactions in concrete cultural spheres and conditions, general trends of verbal behaviour. Linguistic personality is described not as a static but as a constantly developing unit, which is progressing along with society, humanity, culture. Time is the most important factor in the formation of linguistic identity. Time is reflected in the language as a temporal code (Yelena Shirokova), which are subcodes: ontological-time representation of a person, chronometrical-chronological sequence of events, the metalinguistic-time terminology in science and subjective personal psychological time. Used narrow meaning of the code in which language is not identified with the code, but is considered as a system of codes. In this article the ontological temporal subcodes presented in connection with metaphorisation time, chronometric temporal subcodes are described from the point of view of dividing the interim flow and allocation of species such as the chronographia, chronometry and chronology; metalinguistic temporal codes involves extensive terminological component, and the psychological (subjective) temporal codes fully comparable with the psychological perception of themselves in time and time in connection with its own changes. These subcodes analysed in the examples taken from the works by Ivan Bunin, which leads to the understanding of the writer's perception of time.
