The author proves the urgency and importance of a problem to study features and formation of stability and concentration of attention in younger schoolchildren with intellectual insufficiency; results of studying of peculiarity of these properties of attention in children of the given category are de scribed. Stages and directions of correctional work on formation of stability and concentration of attention in pupils of primary classes at special (correctional) school of VIII kind are presented.

В статье обоснована актуальность и значимость проблемы изучения особенностей и формирования устойчивости и концентрации внимания у младших школьников с интеллектуальной недостаточностью; отражены результаты изучения своеобразия этих свойств внимания детей данной категории. Представлены этапы и направления коррекционной работы по формированию устойчивости и концентрации внимания учащихся младших классов специальной (коррекционной) школы VIII вида.
