Abstract

In the last decades there are the situation when actively growing number of urban residents, the speed of development of the crowded cities and the spread of urban lifestyles, the formation of the “educational society” when each element of the environment contains the pedagogical potential. Under these conditions, scientists are interested in the use of socio-cultural space of the city as a pedagogical environment. The article explores the phenomenon of the city ("the city is all"), the role and peculiarities of the city in in the organization of human activity, personal development, the interaction process between the city and the city inhabitant, the possibility of using urban space as an educational tool. The text gives a short description of urban culture from the point of view of modern scientific interests of the different sciences, the concepts of "educational space" and "educational environment" in the framework of pedagogical research. The text contains fragments of publications of authors about visual elements of urban life, about the system of signs of the architecture in the city (semiotics). The author defines the basic conditions of the pedagogical impact of the urban environment. It is the activity of the actors, their participation in the city''s events, the perception of the external form of the city and its content of its “spirit”. Pedagogical potential of each city is found through the content, forms and methods of educational activities and educational events. The author describes the experience of modern educational projects in which the city becomes a space of upbringing and education (for example, the project "City as school", the school program productive training).

В условиях постоянного роста числа городских жителей в последние десятилетия, увеличения количества мегаполисов и распространения городского образа жизни, а также процесса становления «образовательного общества», когда каждый элемент окружающего мира обладает педагогическим потенциалом, актуализируются вопросы использования социокультурного пространства города как педагогического средства. В статье рассматривается феномен города («город есть все»), указывается его роль и особенности в организации жизнедеятельности человека, личностного развития, взаимного влияния человека и города, изучаются возможности использования городского пространства в качестве образовательной среды. В тексте дается краткая характеристика городской культуры с точки зрения современных научных направлений, рассматриваются понятия «образовательное пространство» и «образовательная среда» в рамках педагогических исследований. Уделяется внимание «визуализации жизненного мира» и архитектурному пространству как носителю знаковой системы. Выявляются основные условия педагогического воздействия среды города активность субъектов этого процесса, их деятельность, восприятие и осмысление городского пространства. Педагогический потенциал города реализуется через содержание, формы и методы образовательной деятельности, событийности. Автор обращается к опыту действующих образовательных проектов практического воплощения представлений о городе как пространстве воспитания и образования (например, проект «Город как школа»).
