Abstract

The review of available research of woodland landscapes of the Russian plain: meaning and usage of the term "woodland" genesis, structure, distribution, zoning of woodlands. The article describes the association of woodland landscapes and high planes, the association of woodlands and lake districts. The processes of economic development and modern environmental problems in woodlands of the Russian Plain are considered. The similarities and differences of woodlands in Western Siberia and the Russian plain are studied. The usage of the term "woodland" in the system of fractional landscape zoning of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug is justified. The cartographic inventory of landscape environment of the key area in south-east of the Surgut woodland with a comprehensive system of taxonomic classification units is carried out. A fragment of landscape map and the explanatory notes are represented. The analysis of the structure of landscapes and the allocation of the dominant natural and antropogenic landscapes is given. The problems of identification of landscape oil and gas functions in Western Siberia are considered. The nature protection and landscape resource functions of the key area are determined. The results are presented in a tabular form.
