The article considers the problem of reforming practical law enforcement activities and the corresponding system of personnel training. Principal attention is given to the organization of extra-curricular work in higher schools of the Ministry of InternalAffairs. The author justifies the necessity of radical reconsideration of the established system of organization and assessment of extra-curricular activities which should be guided by the contemporary requirements to the process of higher education.

В статье рассматривается проблема реформирования практической правоохранительной деятельности и соответствующей системы подготовки кадров. Основное внимание уделяется организации воспитательной работы в вузах МВД. Обосновывается необходимость коренного пересмотра сложившейся системы организации и оценки воспитательной деятельности, которая должна быть сориентирована на современные требования к процессу обучения в вузе.
