В статье отмечается актуальность проблемы толерантности и гармонизации межэтнических отношений. Приводятся результаты социологического исследования этнической идентичности и этнокультурной компетентности студентов Россиского государственного профессионально-педагогического университета (РГППУ). Подчеркивается роль системы образования и значение преподавания истории в процессе воспитания толерантности. По данным вопросам велась оживленная дискуссия на панели «Преодолевая культурные границы в образовании : мультикультурализм в образовании современной России» (Crossing Cultural Borders in Education: Multiculturalism in Education of Modern Russia) в рамках форума ASEEES.

The article shows the relevance of the problem of tolerance and harmonization of interethnic relations. The author presents the results of a sociological study on ethnic identity and ethnocultural competence of students at Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University (RSVPU). The education system’s role and the significance of teaching history in the process of nurturing tolerance are emphasized. There was a heated discussion on these issues on the panel “Crossing Cultural Borders in Education: Multiculturalism in Education of Modern Russia” as part of the ASEEES forum.
