The article analyzes the formation of the main ideas of the intelligentsia of the Terek region and its role in the development of education highland population. Research in the field of educational activity of Russian and North educators and teachers presented a number of works, which reflect the main stages of formation and development of the education system, strengthening education and educational activities of public organizations, attempted to estimate the contribution of the Terek intellectuals in this area of science. However, as shown by the analysis of historical and pedagogical literature, the role of intellectuals in the organization of close educational and pedagogical interaction of non-governmental organizations and schools ministerial insufficient disclosure. Educational and pedagogical activity of the intelligentsia played a special place in the eradication of anti-social phenomena. Its prominent representatives stressed the important role played by the legal relations in the public life of the North Caucasian peoples. This indicates that the harmonization of social life they sought to involve elements of customary law governing the relationship between the Highlanders and the rule of law in their midst. Highland progressive intellectuals through the press was trying to convey to people the harmfulness of harmful customs: vendetta, kidnapping of girls, dowry payments, and others.

В статье анализируются основные идеи становления интеллигенции Терской области и ее роли в развитии образования горского населения. Исследования в области образовательной деятельности русских и северокавказских просветителей и педагогов представлены рядом работ, в которых отражены основные этапы становления и развития системы просвещения, активизации просветительско-педагогической деятельности общественных организаций, сделаны попытки оценить вклад терской интеллигенции в эту область науки. Однако, как показывает анализ историко-педагогической литературы, роль интеллигенции в организации тесного просветительско-педагогического взаимодействия неправительственных организаций и министерских школ недостаточно раскрыта. Просветительско-педагогическая деятельность интеллигенции играла особое место в системе искоренения антиобщественных явлений. Ее видные представители подчеркивали важную роль, которую играли правовые отношения в общественном быту северокавказских народов. Это свидетельствует о том, что в деле гармонизации общественной жизни они стремились задействовать элементы обычного права, регулировавшие взаимоотношения горцев и правопорядок в их среде.
