In the article the author determines the role of two interrelated phenomena Theory and Dictionary which is based on the scientific movement with its theory development and lexicographical implementation. The theory of motivology with its aspects and a number of motivological dictionaries (1000 issues in total) has been chosen for consideration. In the article the author marks three stages of development of motivology: 1) 1970s; 2) the end of 1970s and 1980s; 3) 1990s till present. Each stage is characterized by the interrelation of Theory and Dictionary which is embodied in the schemes demonstrating the theory development of each stage and their lexicographical implementation. At the same time the content of this or that theory and its aspects are considered, the dictionaries of different types (comparative, functional, terminological) and the information about the concept, type, structure of the dictionaries and dictionary articles are given. Also attention is paid to the system of motivological units and marks that are used in the dictionary. One of the parts of the study of motivological dictionaries is the development of its source study, research novelty, evolution of the theory of the dictionary. The study of the interrelation and interconnection of the theory of motivology and dictionaries revealed the variety of schemes such as Theory-Dictionary-Theory-Dictionary, Theory-DictionaryDictionary-Theory, Dictionary-Theory, Theory-Dictionary, Theory-Dictionary-Theory. The table presented at the end of the article demonstrates one more scheme of the interrelation of Theory and Dictionary when five other motivological dictionaries (the frequency dictionary, the dictionary of lexical motivators, the dictionary of regular formants, the dictionary of the forms of subjective assessment, the motivological dictionary of the Siberian dialect) are compiled on the basis of one dictionary (the motivological dictionary of dialects). The table also demonstrates poly-aspects of the interconnection of the theory of words motivation and lexicography. This interconnection covers all the aspects of motivology: lexicographical, comparative, socioand age-related, dynamic, functional, and ontological. The author of the article draws the readers' attention to the high scientific productivity of the interconnection of Theory and Dictionary. Their interconnection and interrelation improve the level of research due to the use of huge material which had lexicographical and sometimes polysystemic processing. The level of lexicographical works with the results of theoretical research is increasing and it leads to the compilation and development of the dictionaries which are already known adding new parameters to them (for example, a motivological and comparative dictionary, a dictionary of figurative words, a dictionary of intensive words). In the conclusion, the author says that due to the interconnection and interrelation of the motivological Theory and motivological Dictionary a new genre of scientific production has appeared: Dictionary-research which represents new linguistic information, new knowledge.
На материале словарей мотивационного типа выявляется закономерность взаимосвязи и взаимоперехода теории и словаря: становление той или иной теории находит лексикографическое воплощение, которое создаёт базу для рождения новой теории и т.д. Возникает плодотворная форма научного анализа словарь / исследование.
