The article is devoted to the current state of ethnic culture and social life of the peoples of the North Caucasus, their interconnection and conditionality of historical development of the Russian statehood in whole and its internal policy in changing political and socio-economic conditions. The author focuses on the specifics of the current ethnic policies associated with a weak integration of the region into a common format of the Russian political process. The article indicates the tasks aimed at the efficient development of the region in the field of ethnic policy and economy. The author relates the issues with the return of the Russian-speaking population in the North Caucasus, who are the highly qualified personnel in the areas of production.

Статья посвящена вопросам совре- менного состояния этнокультуры и социальной жизни народов Северного Кавказа, их взаимо- связанности и исторической обусловленности развитием в целом российской государственно- сти и её внутренней политики в меняющихся поли- тических и социально-экономических условиях. Автор акцентирует внимание на специфику со- временной этнополитики, связанную со слабой интеграцией данного региона в общий формат российского политического процесса. В статье обозначены задачи, которые направлены на эффективное развитие региона как в сфере этнополитики, так и экономики. Автор связывает данные задачи с возвратом русскоязычного населения на Северный Кавказ, являющегося высококвалифицированными кадрами в областях производства.
